Viva Saint James Academy has arrived! I am asking each of you to find at least one way to contribute to our biggest fundraiser of the year. This takes a community! It is NOT TOO LATE to RSVP, turn in your raffle tickets, sell your raffle tickets, buy a jewelry raffle ticket or make a sponsorship donation. We will be accepting all of these right up to Saturday March 5th Gala Day.

I hope you had a chance to drop into the Gala Preview yesterday in the Parish Hall. It was just amazing to see the Class Baskets, Kids Art and a few Live items. There will be some items up on our Saint James Website to Preview so please take a look and start to plan your bids! Check out the Preview button here

You will not want to miss out on the Mexico surf adventure in San Pancho, Kindergarten Quilt, adorable 8 week old charcoal, female Labrador (rare color), Nuevo Vallarta Condo getaway, Star Wars basket, Firewire surfboard for the little grommets, and SO much more!

Proxy bid sheets will be coming home in today’s envelope and are available in the front office or on line under Gala 2016 on our Saint James website. If you can't make the gala and you want to bid on the incredible items and art this year, please complete a Proxy form and hand it into the office no later than noon dismissal on Friday..

Next Saturday! Kindergarten through 4th grade Track Meet - Saturday March 12th @ Cathedral High School.

Pre-order bagels for St. Patrick’s Day! Student Council is selling green bagels and cream cheese. Preordered green bagels will be delivered to the students at their recess on Thursday, March 17th. The cost of one bagel and cream cheese will be $2. Please return form by March 10th, with either cash or check payable to Saint James Academy.

The Vocal Academy @ St. James directed by Mrs. Oldham was invited again to sing at Carnegie Hall in New York on March 20th in the Total Vocal concert under the direction of a cappella pioneer Deke Sharon (Pitch Perfect 1 and 2, The Sing Off).  This year's Vocal Academy singers are ages 13-16 and all are committed members of St. James Music Ministry.  Most of the singers are past or current SJA students.  Especially great news this year is that Deke hand selected eight soloists from St. James, up from three soloists selected last year and more than any other choir.

Here is a link to their Royals youtube video, please support them by sharing the video and giving it a ‘like’ and positive comment: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3MIRm2NFK4 Royals video

You are invited and encouraged to join us for 8 a.m. mass this Friday as the 2nd grade assists with the Liturgy. Peacemaker Awards will be presented after mass.

There is noon dismissal this Friday. There will be after school day care.

Please take a moment to read the note below from Janet Grimmer and her family. Janet was the SJA Business Mgr. for 19 years and is a Eucharistic Minister and longtime member of St. James Parish:

Janet Grimmer and her family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to all the current and past families and staff of SJA who showed so many kindnesses to the Grimmer family during the last several months. We are so grateful to this wonderful community! The meals, cards, masses, and especially the hugs helped us through the unexpected and sudden loss of our Ralph/Dad/Papa. We were first stunned by our loss and then by the outpouring of support and love from all of you.

Thank you just seems so inadequate. It does not even begin to measure our gratitude. Please know what a difference you all have made to a family which deeply appreciated each and every act of kindness.

Blessings,
Janet and family
