June 7, 2017

"We will find peace, we will be builders of peace and will spread peace around us." Pope Francis

God of wisdom, we thank you for all the gifts you have given us throughout this school year. We praise you for giving us life, for saving us in Christ and for choosing us to be your people.

As we come to the end of this school year, we voice our gratitude for all the good things you have done in us and we praise you for all who have shared in the work of St. James Academy.

We ask you to bless our families, graduates, students, faculty and staff in your love and give them refreshment and peace. We praise you, God through Jesus Christ our Lord who lives and reigns forever. Amen.

Please keep our graduates in your prayers as they prepare to embark on their new chapter in high school. The SJA Class of 2017 will celebrate their commencement mass at 1 p.m. this Friday.

Last Wednesday Envelope of the Year - Important Information

Enclosed in this last Wednesday Envelope is a packet of important information for the 2017-2018 school year. You will find uniform information, a supply list for next year, and a quick-look calendar of important dates. Be sure to review the SJA summer office hours too! Thank you to Mrs. Salameh for preparing our envelopes the first Wednesday of every month!

SJA Beach Day

On Monday, June 12th, SJA will be celebrating the end of our fabulous school year at the beach. Classroom teachers have sent home permission slips and pertinent information. We would love for you to chaperone! Please contact your classroom teacher if you’re able to join us, provide a Pop-up or cooler. Students need to bring a lunch, wear sunscreen, shorts and shirts (no bathing suits).

SJA Front Office Update

We are pleased to announce that all of Mrs. Pena’s efforts to become a teacher are paying off. She has accepted a teaching position at Cathedral Catholic High School teaching Physics and Engineering! Although bittersweet as we will miss her in the front office, we wish her the best in her new endeavor. With her departure, please welcome Ms. Ann Stowe to our staff. Ann (mom to graduating 8th grader, Xander) will be joining us as the office manager next school year! Lisa Cooper will move into the finance manager position. Of course, there will be a lot of collaboration and sharing of the "many hats" required to work in the front office between Ann and Lisa! Ann will be on campus the next couple of weeks for some "on the job training."

Please make sure that your SJA account is current

June report cards and yearbooks will not be distributed if your account is not up to date. This will also affect any records needing to be sent to other schools.

We are moving back to using FACTS for school payments next year. Our year with Gradelink revealed that their payment system was not sophisticated enough to meet the school’s financial needs. We will be using FACTS for all school payments from tuition and registration to extended care and field trips. This will allow parents to go to one place for all school payments and payment history. Payment options include Credit Card or E-check. All families must sign up for FACTS.

PLEASE NOTE: If you have not given the school proof of your parishioner status, you will be charged non-parishioner tuition. PLEASE TURN IN NOW.

Thank you for your ongoing support in improving our school!

Get your ice cream and cookie fix this week of June 6-11th! They are partnering with the VanGilder family to help us raise funds to complete our outdoor garden. G3 will match every dollar spent at Jojo’s. For more information see flyer.
