January 27, 2016 Candles in Dark Places

“Be kind to one another”
Ephesians 4:32

This reflection touched me and I hope it will resonate with you too. A priest reflects on lighting a candle with the power of prayer. Another way to light a candle is to support our sister school, St. Michael’s Academy, this week by donating a ream of paper tomorrow!

Candles in Dark Places
By Father Pat Hannon, C.S.C.
I turned around and finally noticed that scores of people surrounded me, kneeling and sitting and praying. We were all in it together: The hundred people surrounding me, the father and son who left behind a token of love, and my own family were all in this together. Read more>

Open House at SJA
Open House at SJA

Open House was wonderful! Thank you! There was a great turnout of current and potential families as well as some lovely parishioners getting to know us a little more. Please continue to spread the word of our amazing community. Our growth looks hopeful:) A special thank you to Pat Gale and family for the hospitality and ambiance they provided. Thank you to the teachers for the tremendous amount of extra work this event and week involve. Thank you Luanne and staff for the prep work and hosting duties. Ashley Luoto, great first Open House:) Parents, thank you for your help in so many ways: Cindy Davis and Tatiana Walton for hosting during mass, to Linda for beautiful informative flyers and information table and to the many who brought friends and helped to advertise. We had the great group at St. Elizabeth, we had essay readers at all Sunday masses last week (Kayla Mendes, Zoe Daphne Gagne, Michaela Marquand and Fletcher Fuller) and two this Sunday (Reese Mosunic and Max Cortese), and Student Council assisted with a beautiful liturgy and led tours all morning. I’m sure I missed some, but you all helped us show off!

Please make sure that your Spell-A-Thon pledges have been turned into the office. Thank you to Cheryl Flynn for once again chairing our Spell-A-Thon. What a bonus to raise some money while learning!
