And now these three remain,

Ditch Day at Belmont Part

At the end of this school year we give thanks to God: For all the teaching and learning that has taken place in our school, both in and out of the classroom, For the talents and gifts that have been shared and the challenges that have been faced; For the burdens that have been lifted and the hurts that have been healed; For the respect and care that has been given. We give thanks for the friendships that have just begun and for those that have grown. For the faith that has been lived in our daily struggles, For the hope that has lifted our hearts on the dark days And for the love that has kept us going. We give thanks for the community that we are, and we ask you Lord - Bless our students as they sit their exams: may your Spirit inspire them with confidence and calmness Bless our families as we take our holidays, may our time together leave us with memories to cherish. Pour out your love on us that we may return renewed and refreshed to continue our journey together . We make this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Please keep our graduates in your prayers as they prepare to embark on their new chapter in high school. This week’s celebrations are a beautiful culmination of effort by our graduates, their parents and this community. 18 of our graduates have attended SJA since kindergarten, a true testament of who we are! Please join us for their commencement mass this Friday at 1:00 p.m.

End of the Year Outreach

Red Bucket Equine Rescue
Red Bucket Equine Rescue is located in Chino Hills, CA. Our very own second grader, Ryder has been working closely with this non-profit for quite some time. The mission of Red Bucket is to to save and rehabilitate horses, restore their trust in humankind, and find them safe, loving, permanent adoptive homes. To date, Red Bucket has saved 387 horses and found forever homes for 233 horses. Red Bucket relies on donations from generous individuals and has asked us to provide unsweetened applesauce, any type of horse brush, paper towels and monetary donations. If you would like to provide any of these items, please drop them off in the front office. Thank you for your support.

Student Council Book Collection
The Saint James Student Council is partnering with the American Book Drive Organization, to collect gently used books to be donated to those in need. We will be collecting the books, starting on Monday, May 21 to Friday, May 25. The books that will be donated will be distributed to local schools, hospitals, and children's centers. Our goal at SJA is to collect over 200 books to be donated. Thank you for your participation. Books can be delivered to your child’s classroom.

ATTENTION PARKING REQUEST: Please DO NOT park in the church parking lot TOMORROW, Thursday, 5/17. There will be a very large funeral for Kevin Elliot and the parish has requested that we park elsewhere. Thanks!

Thank you for your support of the Davis Family

It has been a sad and difficult week, but it is during these times that the heart and soul of St. James comes to the forefront. The Davis family feels the love and support you’ve generously and unconditionally offered. The blessings of our SJA community provide comfort, strength and hope in the darkest of moments. I am grateful for all of you. Below is a list of ways to assist the Davis family during this time of need.

Compassionate Father, so many people here are suffering. Only You know the depth and breadth of the burdens carried here. Grant us wisdom to know how we can be an instrument of Your peace, both tangibly and intangibly. Embrace the Davis and Simmons family in your warm and loving arms and provide them with strength, comfort and hope. Amen.

— Corinthians 13:13 —

Almighty God, your Son’s rising from the dead astounded his followers, and turned their sadness into joy, their hopelessness into buoyant courage. Like the disciples who encountered him on the road to Emmaus, may we recognize Jesus in the breaking of the bread, know him as the fulfillment of our deepest longings, and proclaim him alive to all we meet. We ask this through Christ our risen Lord. Amen. -Father Paul Kollman, CSC
